The Bodega Emporium Illustration Project

I created a series of illustrations for the packaging of a Lagos-based coffee shop, drawing inspiration from the people, energy, and everyday scenes that make Lagos feel alive. The goal was to create illustration that felt distinctly Nigerian while maintaining a whimsical and handdrawn visual style. I explored familiar people of Lagos—from DJ to a person running grocery I focused on creating characters and scenes that felt warm, lively, and relatable, using flowy lines and a minimalist black and white palette to give each package its own personality. The illustrations were then adapted across different packaging formats while maintaining a consistent visual language.
